Volunteering
Volunteering is one of the easiest ways to become involved in the arts; and The Art League provides a fun, relaxing, and welcoming introduction.
The Art League is a non-profit organization and its many members volunteer countless hours to aid in its operation. Since the League's inception, volunteerism has been a mainstay of the organization. Those who volunteer throughout the League experience the diversity of this arts community while interacting with other art enthusiasts.
There are many activities for those willing to donate their time and expertise. Hanging shows, painting walls, hospitality at openings, bulk mailings, catalog and brochure distribution, computer work, telephone calling, gallery receiving, framing and matting, special events work, and even carpentry are some of the areas where Art League volunteers make all the difference in our success. For further information on how to get started as a volunteer, please call our gallery at 703-683-1780.
Scholarships
The Geri Gordon Scholarship Fund was established in 1998 to celebrate former Art League School Director Geri Gordon’s remarkable vision and dedication. Although the fund is small at this time, a few scholarship and work-study awards for art classes are available each term. Donations to expand on the fund are invited and welcomed. For more details on receiving a scholarship or making a donation to the fund, please contact the school office at 703-683-2323.
Internships
Unpaid internships are available throughout the year for assisting in the gallery and/or school and for summer art camp. They provide excellent work experience in the visual arts and can meet collegiate intern requirements. For additional information on becoming an intern, please contact the gallery at 703-683-1780.
